ABOUT SIDNEY HOLBROOK

Sidney Holbrook is a government affairs consultant who provides communication and strategic consulting for corporate and industry association clients.
Mr. Holbrook is also the President of Monoflo Septic Tank Inc. in Westbrook - Connecticut's premier designer, cleaner and installers of sub-surface sewage systems.
Mr. Holbrook is a member of the Board of Directors for New England Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (NETAAC), which is an affiliate of the Department of Commerce. NETAAC assists New England companies that are adversely affected by foreign competition.
Mr. Holbrook served as Gov. John Rowland's chief of staff from October 1997 to April 2002, directly overseeing 16 state agencies including the Department of Environmental Protection, the Department of Transportation and the Department of Public Health. Additionally, Mr. Holbrook oversaw Gov. Rowland's Eastern Connecticut, Bridgeport and Washington, DC, offices.
While chief of staff, Mr. Holbrook served as a board member of the Connecticut Economic Conference, vice chairman of the Connecticut Institute of Municipal Studies, board member of the New England Governor's Conference, and board member of the Conference Committee on Trade and Globalization.
Prior to his tenure as chief of staff, Mr. Holbrook served as the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection. While commissioner, Mr. Holbrook served as the chairman of the New England Governors and Eastern Canadian Premieres Environmental Commissioners and Ministers, chairing the New England and Eastern Canadian Environmental Conference.
Additionally, Mr. Holbrook served on the Ozone Transport Commission, the Nuclear Energy Advisory Council, the Bi-State Long Island Sound Commission, the Long Island Sound Policy Committee, and chaired the United Way State Employees campaign in 1995.
Mr. Holbrook also served in the Connecticut House of Representatives from Eastern Connecticut's 35th District from 1983-1995. In the General Assembly, he served as the House Republican Whip and on the Environment, Public Health, Insurance, Commerce and Public Safety Committees.
In addition to his extensive commitment to public service, Mr. Holbrook has been a partner in many successful business ventures. He was a founding partner and is a current member of the board of directors for Infiltrator Systems, a $100 million company that is America's largest manufacturer of plastic leaching chambers. He was also a founding partner of Advanced Precast Concrete, Inc. and Brainard Bulldozing. He was on the board of directors for the Connecticut Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (COWRA).
Locally, Mr. Holbrook has served on the Westbrook Planning Commission, the Westbrook Inlands/Wetlands Commission; serving as secretary and currently on the Westbrook Economic Development Commission and the Westbrook Water Pollution Policy Advisory Board.
He is on the board of directors of Vista, a secondary educational facility for physically challenged youths, and a corporater of Liberty Bank and Middlesex Hospital.
Mr. Holbrook also served in the Connecticut National Guard and attended the Porter's School of Engineering Design and Quinnipiac College.
